I was born and raised in Gladstone, Missouri and attended Oak Park High School. I received a soccer scholarship at Texas Lutheran University upon graduation. After my junior year, I married the love of his life, Liz Benyo. After graduation we moved back to Gladstone, and I took a position as an assistant manager at Babies"R"Us (gosh that was a long time ago now that I think about it). A dear friend from church suggested I approach the insurance industry since I was working such long hours….and not making enough money. Well, this is where the journey begins.
Journey based on Devoted Church Principles.
I found peace working for The Lutheran Brotherhood (TLB) as a life insurance agent. I loved how I could sit in peoples’ home and explain the benefits of the various offerings TLB provided. After several years, TLB merged with Thrivent. I studied for and received several securities registrations. I moved into a management position while working for Thrivent for over two decades. But like with most things in life, I decided to venture into the independent, non-captive world of financial planning. Thus, the next life journey began…
Learning along the way
I am extremely passionate about helping prospective clients with finding their particular needs at the moment and in the future. Working independently affords me time to fish at Smithville Lake (that’s me holding the fish) while thinking through the options for my clients. This is where I find my peace so I can be the best financial planner to integrate clients’ goals to find the best solutions. I am a true family man having raised a son and daughter who are both on their ways to financial success from the lessons Dad taught them.
